A MEMORIAL service for legendary independence campaigner Winnie Ewing is to be held in Inverness this afternoon.

First Minister Humza Yousaf, Presiding Officer Alison Johnstone and Highland MSP Kate Forbes will give readings.

Former first minster Alex Salmond will also give a eulogy as will ex-Scottish Cabinet member Alex Neil.

How can I watch the memorial service?

The Alba Party’s Twitter account has posted a link to the service which will be livestreamed across Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo.

Who else is speaking at the service?

The service is set to be conducted by Most Reverend Mark Strange, Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church and Bishop of the Diocese of Moray, Ross & Caithness, and the Very Reverend Sarah Murray, Provost of Inverness Cathedral.

Gaelic songs are also set to be performed by Julie Foulis who will be accompanied by her husband Eamon Doorley. Winnie Ewing’s grand-daughter, Ciara, will also sing.
