LIBRARY fire exits were blocked as supporters of a far-right activist confronted an SNP MP.

Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, broadcast on Facebook Live as his supporters confronted Stewart McDonald during his constituent surgery last week.

McDonald was then escorted by police from Pollockshaws Library in Glasgow.

The SNP MP said that Robinson arrived at the venue in a people carrier with "a small gang of men", which included one man by the name of Daniel Thomas, 29, who was previously convicted for armed kidnapping.

“Shortly after I finished with two constituents Mr Robinson and a small gang of men appeared out of the same people carrier and proceeded to cover all exits from the building," McDonald told The Times.

“I was informed that this was being broadcast live on Mr Robinson’s Facebook page.”

The report also said that Robinson's supporters bombarded the library with phone calls.

During the incident, police outside the library said that the "library was closed to the public".

Earlier, police were called to Kennishead community hall after Robinson appeared there.
