A NEW Home Bargains will open in Cumbernauld this weekend following a £3 million investment.

The brand's third store in the town, located at Westway Retail Park, will officially open at 8am on Saturday, March 23.

The shop, referred to as Cumbernauld 3, is creating 55 new jobs in the local community and includes a garden centre, café and bakery.

It will offer shoppers a range of products such as homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

Derek Campbell, the Cumbernauld 3 store manager, said: "I am really excited to welcome our third store to Cumbernauld which offers a stunning garden centre, café and bakery.

"It has been amazing building our team who are ready to offer the best customer service to all our new and existing customers.

"As the third location in this vibrant community, we've created over 50 job opportunities, igniting pride and progress among our fellow residents.

"This store goes beyond mere bricks and shelves; it symbolizes a place where dreams can flourish."

Home Bargains will also be donating £2000 to local charity Strathcarron Hospice who support people across Froth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth living with a life-limiting condition.

Claire Kennedy, corporate fundraiser at Strathcarron Hospice, said: "We have the most amazing community of supporters and we're incredibly grateful to Home Bargains for their generous donation.

"It means so much, as it will ensure that Strathcarron's Hospice services will continue to be free of charge for those that need them the most.

"As a Hospice charity, we need to raise around £102,000 a week to provide these specialist services; the highest level of palliative care and support for the community, whether that be In-Patient Unit, or at-home end-of-life care, lymphedema services, rehabilitation or patient & family and bereavement support."
