IN a year of PR mishaps and questionable advertising campaigns, BrewDog has gone back to what it does best – serving craft beer.
Hot on the heels of launching a stock-themed bar in London and announcing a date for the opening of their Carlisle outlet, the Scottish brewer now has its sights set on a location in the north east of Scotland.
In July, BrewDog submitted plans to transform Drummers Bar in Peterhead. Those plans have now been approved by Aberdeenshire Council planning officials, according to the Press & Journal.

There were no objections from locals to the plans, which will see the Ellon-based company replace the current pub's shopfront with timber and floor-length windows.
Christopher Forman from Mintlaw wrote a letter to the council supporting the new venture and said the craft brewer should be welcomed with “open arms”.
“Town centres are a key element of the economic, social and environmental fabric of towns, often at the core of community and economic life," he said.
“A company of this kind should be welcomed with open arms to Peterhead town centre.
“This would provide a great place for people to meet, interact and even do business.
“Knowing the type of company the applicant is and having visited several of its facilities they create a great atmosphere for friends and families to enjoy time together.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
